Rooting cuttings

I have a wire shelf wrapped in plastic like a temporary greenhouse, and it seems no matter how wet or dry i keep it, the first sets of leaves on new cuttings bud out and then blacken after being vibrant and green for up to a week prior. What the heck!? I have a large chicken coop that id like to winterize and put plants in, but I don't even know where to begin to make it warm enough for small plants.

Fall is rolling in quick for some of us, planning to start some cold hardy winter plants after turning compost. MI Gardener just put 50% off seed yesterday too so grabbed some good stuff. What are you planting?

1st Year Starfruit

1st year for this Karey starfruit and it’s doing amazing. I planted it in some light shade to help with the Texas sun and it’s growing really well. Roughly 5 gallons of irrigation every three days. It came out of the box so sad and I thought it was dead from the start!

What is everyone's top 5 fig varieties they have or want?

Just curious what everyone else has for their top five? As I expand on my personal orchard, I am always curious what I should be on the look out for.
